Residua
△Faded signs, worn facades, and peeling paint trace past lives and the rapid transformation of urban Guangzhou—especially in a square once home to a small cluster of noodle shops. Through photography, I explore how surfaces reflect time, consumption, and change—seeking the in-between states where material excess gives way to quiet signs of human presence. "The budgerigar is not precious, but I like it very much. It cannot survive in the wild. Please help me find it." This small, tender message offers a moment of vulnerability—a reminder that even in landscapes shaped by impermanence and consumption, human stories endure.
The project is ongoing and began in 2024.
